About

Extension Tracker keeps a public record of the Chrome Web Store. For every extension it records the users, rating, version, permissions and listing details, checks them again every week or month, and keeps the history: what changed, when, and when an extension was removed. It's built for researchers and journalists.

What it won't do

• No accounts.
• No paid tier. The data stays free.
• No developer contact details, full descriptions, screenshots or reviews.
• No safety verdicts. The site reports facts, such as permissions, changes and removals, not whether an extension is malicious.
• No extension packages. The site never hosts or passes them on; download links go to Google's own servers.

Funding

The site takes no funding. If ads or sponsored links ever appear, they'll be labeled as sponsored, and they won't change the data, the rankings, or what a page says about an extension.

Reusing the data

The data is free to reuse under CC BY 4.0: credit Extension Tracker. Every extension page has a citation you can copy.
